Softcat take Hi-Tech Horizons to The Misbourne

One of our Hi-Tech Horizons partners, Softcat, recently took Hi-Tech Horizons and their interactive workshops to The Misbourne School in Buckinghamshire.

Softcat told us why they chose to get involved with Hi-Tech Horizons,

We are are excited to be partnering with Hi-Tech horizons to help promote STEM related careers among young people today. Not only are we very keen on recruiting more ambitious apprentices into the business, we are passionate about inspiring younger generations. A career in STEM can provide many options in which we want to make students aware of in order to help educate them to make the right decision for them when leaving education.

Softcat spent an exciting two days inspiring Year 8, at The Misbourne, into the world of hi-tech. The workshops were throughly enjoyed by the students and they all indicated that they had been inspired and motivated by the challenges they faced.

It helped me realise that I could have a career in tech, you don’t have to love tech to enjoy being part of a tech community.

I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Hi-Tech Horizons and The Misbourne School having the opportunity to influence the career choices of students was really fulfilling.

Hi-Tech Horizons will be hitting the road a number of times this year, with a variety of hi-tech businesses, to inspire and equip our future workforce for tomorrow’s workplace…so watch this space!
