Boosting Work-related Skills

Boosting work-related skills

One of the hardest things for young people entering the world of work, today, is to realise their own achievements and skills and have the confidence to shout about them!

We recently visited Year 11 at Maiden Erlegh, Reading with over 30 amazing business volunteers to deliver our Mock Interview and People Like Me workshops.

Students where able to get a taste of what an interview is like with a business professional and combat anxiety and boost confidence.

This experience was extremely helpful, it helped boost my confidence and showed me where I could make further improvements.”

Student

The People like Me workshop helped students think about their personality traits and how these are suited to a variety of roles within the Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) sectors.

This was a great opportunity to welcome the students to the world of interviews and help them realise their potential

I enjoyed hearing about the aspirations of these students. If they achieve half of what they hope for, our future is in good hands!
